This is the infamous dinosaur Nate has been trying to make for over 3 years now. It is finally finished!! Together with its base rock it weighs in at a whopping 28kg.

Nate was inspired by an exhibition in Glasgow showing the skeleton of Rex. He was transferred right back to his childhood seeing it come to life.

Nate came up with the idea to make all the vertebrae and ribs separately and have them slide onto a inner shaft, wedged on with small bits of copper to match the teeth. However, between making the different sections his plans changed. He decided on brazing the spine together to give it a touch of gold colour. With the blues and blacks colours of the heated steel this sculpture has ever changing colours at differing angles and light.

The end result is definitely worth the challenges met in forging him.
